Meet the cats!

Our feline residents all come from the BC SPCA, and they are all available for adoption!

SALT (1 YEAR 6 MONTHS 1 WEEK) Meet Salt & Pepper, a bonded pair that came to us as strays. Both of these little beautiful gals are very sweet! Salt is a bit more shy and not very confident. She will come around for pets if she is approached, especially with treats. Patience will boost her confidence and slow movements will benefit her. Fast movements and super loud noises will startle both girls, so a quieter home would benefit both of them. These two love one another and have been with each other since they were born. They are best friends and are looking for their forever home together! ADOPTION PENDING

SCARLETTE (3 YEARS 3 WEEKs) Scarlette is a bodacious gal who loves to be pampered. She and two other female cats came into the Williams Lake branch as strays. She’s affectionate and sweet, loving to be to pet and brushed. Scarlette’s long locks will need frequent brushing to keep them free of mats, and she will need a strict diet to get her weight under control as well. If you are looking for a friendly lap partner to share the finer things in life with, this may be the gal for you!

TILLY (9 MONTHS 1 WEEK) Meet Tilly from Quesnel! She was surrendered to the Quesnel branch alongside her three siblings and mom. Tilly's sister is Lily and they would be happy to find a home together! Tilly has tufts of fur on her ears and is quite shy. She is best suited to a quiet adult only home, but she is a super snuggly gal with a huge heart.

STARBUCK (3 years 6 MONTHS 2 WEEKs) Take a look at these man cheeks! Starbuck is a crazy handsome blue-eyed boy destined for the limelight. He looks like grumpy cat without the grump. Starbuck was surrendered by his guardian to the Williams Lake branch, when they felt having a cat was too much responsibility.

SIMBA (9 YEARs 5 MONTHS 2 weeks) This handsome, gentle ginger man is ready to be your one and only. Simba was originally surrendered to the Maple Ridge branch alongside his sister, but they quickly charmed their way into someone’s heart and home. Unfortunately the siblings were returned when their guardians could no longer care for them. Simba has now struck out on his own and is counting on being three times lucky! This big hunk doesn’t like being picked up and can be a little persnickety in new situations. His new guardians will need to ensure that he has positive experiences. One way to do this is to break out the wand toy – Simba's spirits soar when he has the chance to hunt and play. He loves to lounge around and weave in and out of people's legs. Simba is declawed, so it’s imperative that he is kept indoors only.

MAX (2 YEARs 1 MONTH) Meet Max! This handsome boy was surrendered to our Williams Lake branch when his owner was moving. Being a bit of a shy boy, it takes Max a bit to get used to his surroundings, but he is a fine gentleman once he gets to know you. Max would be a good companion for an adult-only home. He is playful, snuggly and sensitive. He's been coexisting well with other felines but is not a fan of dogs. Max's previous owner reported that he loves to play with hair elastics and lay on your chest. He's a multi-tasking kitty!

FIRE (2 YEARs 1 MONTH) Fire was found with another cat in Quesnel at a concrete building just down the road from the shelter. We are guessing they were dropped off at the shelter but ran off. Fire is quite the shy guy to begin with, but once he trusts you, he loves head rubs and to roll around. He adores other cats and we would love to see him go to a home with a feline companion! He is not suited to a home with young children, as he is easily spooked by sudden or loud noises or movements. With a bit of patience and love, we know he will come around very quickly in a calm home environment, and we think he will be an excellent, snuggly companion for someone. ADOPTION PENDING

DAISY (2 YEARs 1 MONTH) Daisy is a unique cat! She was found as a stray in Fort St. John, and we do not have any history on her. The person who brought her in reported that she was found in their backyard trying to eat feathers and sticks. She's very affectionate and also very chatty about how she's feeling. Being picked up or held makes Daisy nervous and she will vocalize loudly if you do so. At first she can be shy, but once you start petting her she warms right up to you.

athos  (1 YEAR 8 MONTHS) Aramis, Porthos and Athos are three sweet boys that all came from the same home. They arrived in Quesnel but were quickly transferred to the Lower Mainland in hopes of adoption. Ideally these three boys need to be adopted together. We know that is a lot to ask, but they are all heavily bonded — especially Aramis and Porthos. Three very cuddly tuxedo boys looking for love. Initially they can feel quite anxious, but with gentle petting and coaxing, they slowly come out of their shell. Being long-haired cats, they will require regular grooming and de-matting; thankfully they are all such cool dudes that they quite enjoy their spa sessions. These guys have been approved for adoption, but are staying with us until the end of the month. ADOPTION PENDING
